Many Australians have donated to the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal in the wake of the floods.
It is important to note that Private Ancillary Funds (PAFs) are unable to donate to this appeal as it is a Public Fund.
For trustees of PAFs who wish to contribute to the floods, we recommend consideration be given to the Foundation for Rural & Regional Renewal.
This Foundation was established in 2000 and will assist donors to target specific towns and projects. Unfortunately, as we all know, public funds administered by the Government are typically not as efficient in achieving optimal outcomes as some well-resourced and focused community foundations. The website has not yet been updated to discuss specific projects in Queensland, so if you wish to donate, we recommend contacting the Foundation directly to discuss options.
The Salvation Army also has a Flood Relief Fund that PAFs can donate to here
