Nigel has been a mainstay of the Australian financial services sector for more than 35 years and is a regular presenter at local and international conferences on financial and wealth management.
He established Nigel Stewart and Associates in 1983 then became Executive Chairman of Potter Warburg (UBS Wealth Management) in 1995. In 1994, he joined the board of Dimensional Fund Advisors (Australia).
Nigel started Stewart Partners in 1998 and is now Chairman of APW Partners, the parent company.
He has extensive experience in financial and investment markets, a GDipAppFin, AIF®, and he is a Fellow of FINSIA, FPA and AICD.
Executive Director & Principal Adviser
Greg is an Executive Director of APW Partners Pty Limited and Principal Adviser to clients with significant complexity in family and financial structures.
APW Partners dates its origins to 1989 in the Sydney office and 2006 in Melbourne, delivering tailored investment and wealth management solutions to private clients within a flexible strategic planning model. This model takes a comprehensive and (often a multi-generational) approach to planning and investment portfolio construction. It also establishes a process that enables families to integrate the contributions of their existing professional advisers including the disciplines of tax, estate planning, insurance, private enterprise and other important non-financial contributors such as philanthropy and life-style services.
Greg is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary AIF®, a Certified Financial Planner CFP® and member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia Limited (FPA). Greg is an accredited specialist in Self Managed Superannuation Funds (SSA) and a member of the Self Managed Super Fund Association, and holds academic qualifications in Economics, Financial Planning and Superannuation.
Greg has a comprehensive understanding of investment markets as well as the significant contributions of academia to portfolio construction and investment risk management, gained through APW Partners’ long term association with leading financial economists, in particular Prof Eugene Fama (Booth School of Business, University of Chicago – 2013 Nobel Laureate) and Prof Kenneth French (Tuck School of Finance, Dartmouth College).
Greg is a graduate of the CEG Worldwide Cultivating Advice Program, a specialist course developed in the US for firms structuring wealth management services to high and ultra high net worth individuals and families and has spoken at a number of conferences in both Australia and the US on the future of professional wealth management services.
Greg has been a member of the Asset Class Investors Group (now the Global Alliance of Independent Advisors) for the past 14 years, an international collective of independent wealth management businesses whose focus is primarily on research into the application of portfolio solutions and the ongoing challenge to develop world’s best wealth management practice.
Away from work, Greg is married to Melanie with three children, Elizabeth, Edward and Eleanor. Greg enjoys family time, keeping fit, reading, and is a passionate Collingwood supporter.
Non-Executive Director & Consultant
Rick is a Non-Executive Director and Consultant of APW Partners. Rick has taken deliberate action during his career to work with APW Partners to pursue his passion of helping clients be financially successful on purpose.
Rick has a background in accounting and corporate valuations with Coopers & Lybrand / PricewaterhouseCoopers, investment banking with Westpac Institutional Bank and corporate finance at Qantas Airways Limited.
Rick has a Bachelor of Commerce from Macquarie University, a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investments from the Financial Services Institute of Australasia (FINSIA), is a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®).
Rick enjoys a wonderful family life with his wife and three children and is passionate about the impact that APW Partners can have on the lives of clients.
Executive Director & Principal Adviser
Jeff is an Executive Director and Principal Adviser of APW Partners and enjoys working with clients to help them manage and simplify their financial complexities.
Jeff holds academic qualifications in economics, accounting, tax law, superannuation and financial planning. He was recognised as one of the top 50 financial advisers in Australia by the prestigious AFR Master class for five consecutive years from 2002 – 2006 and is an accredited SMSF Specialist Adviser (SSA).
With a passion and fascination for the interplay of financial markets and government tax and retirement policies, Jeff has also written extensively for print media on financial matters and is an avid reader.
Jeff’s knowledge and expertise has been acquired over many years. His experience is particularly relevant to affluent families and individuals who seek comprehensive and structured wealth management advice that integrates with their lifestyle goals and objectives.
Jeff attained CFP status in 2000 and has been a member of CPA Australia and the Taxation Institute for over 25 years.
Jeff is married to Ann with two adult children. Jeff enjoys snow skiing in winter and maintaining fitness throughout the year.
Joseph cares deeply about his family and clients and is an incredibly thoughtful and insightful wealth mentor.
Joseph has been in the financial services sector for almost 20 years , and has extensive experience in portfolio construction, developing client strategies, superannuation, tax and estate planning. Before joining APW Partners, Joseph spent 12 years with the global consulting firm Mercer, primarily as a Principal and Adviser to high net worth clients. He then joined ANZ Private Bank as the Senior Financial Adviser.
Joseph is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), which is Australia’s highest designation for practicing financial planners and also holds a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Sydney. Joseph is also an Accredited Specialist Member of the Self-Managed Super Fund Association of Australia (SMSF Association).
Having experienced some of the challenges wealth advisers can encounter in large financial organisations, Joseph relishes his role at APW Partners in an environment that allows him to always put his client’s interests first.
With over 30 years of experience in Financial Services both in Australia and the UK covering Banking, Treasury, Investment and Fund Accounting as well as Client Service, Mike joined APW in December 2015 as Operations Manager.
Mike is based in our Sydney office and manages the operational aspects in support of the APW advice team across both the Melbourne and Sydney offices. He is a CPA and Fellow of FINSIA.
Alistair is a Senior Adviser of APW Partners, having worked with individuals and families for the past 15 years.
Alistair holds academic qualifications with a Bachelor of Business, and a Diploma of Financial Planning. He has a comprehensive understanding of tax structures and his experience is particularly relevant for clients seeking professional advice in the areas of wealth accumulation and retirement planning.
Alistair is the Adviser to a select number of individuals and families, coordinating a broad range of wealth management responsibilities, including asset management, administration, asset protection, tax structuring, insurance and estate planning. Alistair’s role also requires an integrated working relationship with other specialist professionals, in particular tax accountants and estate planning specialists to ensure all relevant laws are considered in pursuit of the wealth management objectives.
Away from work, Alistair is married to Linda with twin daughters Ellisha and Sienna. Alistair is an avid sports fan, enjoys running, and is a diehard Richmond supporter.
Brendon is an Adviser at APW Partners, having previously worked in the wealth management arm of a chartered accounting firm, one of the major financial services institutions, and a privately owned national financial planning business. He enjoys the privilege of looking after whole family groups across generations.
Brendon is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), which is Australia’s highest designation for practicing financial planners and also holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (major in Psychology) from Macquarie University. Brendon is also an Accredited Specialist Member (SSA™) of the Self-Managed Super Fund Association of Australia (SMSF Association). He has a comprehensive understanding of tax structures and advanced technical strategies for Self-Managed Super Funds.
Outside of work, Brendon has a strong interest in the growing arena of Social Enterprise – organisations which blend the traditionally separate worlds of capitalism & philanthropy. He also enjoys playing guitar and the occasional game of golf.
Patrick is an Adviser with APW Partners and has completed the Diploma of Superannuation Management, Diploma of Financial Planning, the Kaplan Self Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) Specialist program, and is currently completing the Master of Financial Planning.
Patrick has a great depth of knowledge and experience in working directly with clients, with particular emphasis on pre/post retirement planning, as well as the estate planning process.
Patrick is an integral part of the APW advice team and has a passion in working closely with clients to empower them with knowledge and confidence to make good quality decisions towards the fulfilment of their financial goals and objectives.
Patrick is married with two children and outside of work enjoys spending quality time with his family.
Rebecca is dedicated to providing quality advice and management of her client's financial affairs so that they have more time to enjoy the things that they love. She is passionate helping clients achieve their financial goals and ensuring that they feel comfortable along the journey.
She began her career in the financial planning industry at the beginning of 2009 at a boutique financial planning firm and joined APW Partners in early 2011. She has a broad level of experience in strategic planning and financial management and skills in asset management and adminstration.
Rebecca has completed a Bachelor of Business, majoring in Financial Planning, and she is also a member of the Financial Planning Association and is currently completing her Certified Financial Planner Certification Designation (CFP).
Dermot has been part of the team here at APW Partners since July 2014 after moving from large institutional banking. Dermot has completed a Bachelor of Commerce, Post-Graduate studies in Advanced Financial Planning and is currently in his final year of a Master of Applied Finance at Monash University.
Dermot is an Associate Member of the Financial Planning Association of Australia and has commenced formal education towards his Certified Financial Planner Designation (CFP).
Dermot derives great satisfaction in seeing clients feeling secure about their financial future. He also enjoys fostering relationships with clients and working towards solutions to complex tasks that give him the opportunity to enhance his technical capabilities.
Outside of work, Dermot is a keen Golfer with a current Handicap of 2 at Huntingdale Golf Club.
Calvin has over 8 years experience in the financial services industry with a passion for providing quality advice and assisting clients to achieve their goals.
Prior to joining APW Partners, Calvin worked within the wealth management divisions of Baillieu Holst and Morgan Stanley, specialising in the development of strategic financial solutions.
Calvin has completed a Bachelor of Business in Economics and Finance, a Graduate Diploma of Applied Finance, and has completed the education component of the Certified Financial Planner Certification.
Away from work, Calvin is an avid reader and supporter of the Geelong Football Club.
Peter is an Associate Adviser with APW Partners with over ten years experience in the wealth management industry.
Peter enjoys working with clients to develop suitable and effective advice to achieve personal, family, business and philanthropic goals. Peter is a strong advocate for an over-arching strategic approach to financial advice that considers the broader implications of a client’s circumstance as the key to sound advice.
Implicit in the holistic approach to financial advice, is the value brought to bear in working with other professionals (accountants, lawyers, bankers, estate planning specialists) to balance competing factors and formulate effective, enduring solutions.
Peter holds a degree in Engineering (UNSW), a Master’s of Business Administration (UTS), a Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning (FINSIA). Peter is also a Fellow of FINSIA.
Peter is married with three teenage children. He enjoys tennis, ocean swimming, the occasional half-marathon and is an ardent rugby follower.
Toni joined APW Partners in late 2015, relocating to Sydney from London where she worked for 6 years with a participating firm of our Global Advice Network. Toni supports our advisers and takes great satisfaction in providing exceptional client service, with a particular interest in streamlining internal processes through technology.
Toni has a Bachelors degree in Financial Services from the UK and is currently studying towards her Diploma in Financial Planning.
